Elephant festival is the festival in which showing importance of elephant in rajasthan. This festival organized in full moon days of Phalgun Purnima during holy days which are mostly come in February/March month. Elephants are most important part of rajasthan's religious events, processions & marriage ceremonies. When we see historic time then they were a significant part of battlefield.

For this festival which elephant participate in that occasion are painted with different shades of colors. & decorated by heavy silver ornaments & clothes. The elephants come in the ground with their mahouts ( elephant driver/ master), slow dance with the sound of nagadas & loud blows of bankiya, which is musical a instrument. Almost participant elephants are females.

Elephant polo, Elephant polo, the tug of war between elephant and 19 men & women are the special fetures of this festival. The view of that location is awesome with live performance of dancers & musicians.

This festival enjoyed by huge crowds including visitors from different part of india & abroad. Previously the festival was held at the Chaugan stadium but due to the increase crouds & fame its venue got changed in 2011 and has been shifted to Polo Ground which is opposite to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. adium.
