The Temple was built on the 3rd day of the bright half of Falgun Samvat 1907 ( 1851 A.D.), Maharaja Ratan Singh Ji got the temple constructed and the remaining was got accomplished by his successor son Maharata Surat Singh.In the former state Bikaner, temple of Shri Krishna or Shri Vishnu were rare and there was dearth of them felt by all. The queen of Maharaja Ratan Singh Ji was of shekhawt family. This Raj Kanwar Shekhawat Ji insipired her husband to construct a Krishna temple as, she was a devotee of Lord Krishna. An inspired Maharaja Ratan Singh got the temple of Ratan Bihari Ji and Rasik Shiromani Ji constructed.
The Temple is 150 Years old and is visited by millions of visitors. Devasthan vibhag has spent 14-15 lac rupees in the past years to repair and renovate the temple. Tourism department should make use of the potential the temple offers.
