Majestic former palace of the Rajputs, this palace complex is a landmark in the city. The museum is good, you will see ancient things that Ruler use. A magnificent palace by any standards, preserved in pristine condition except for the colour and glitter of its glory days.
Being liberally built with marble even the glow and polish and the gleaming finish is still there and may continue for ever.
It is blessed with a grand setting by the majestic mountains of Aravalli on the North and the West.
Being tightly linked to the history of Delhi, it is an interesting point of history to note that the Rashtrapati Bhawan is located on the land of Rai Singha , the then ruler of the princely state. Hence, the locality of Rashtrapati Bhawan is being known as Raisina Hills, a corruption of his name.
The north side front portion is being willful abandoned to the elements and is dilapidated and decaying, with growth of trees on the palace walls .
Hope someone takes note and cares for preserving the Palace which is a hallmark of honor and tradition of Alwar.
Apart from the museum, the building is not having its palatial pretenses, now being occupied by the District Election Commission and the District Collector's office.
However it's a great tourist attraction indeed!
