The Ranakpur Jain Temple, popularly known as the Chaturmukha Dharana Vihara, is one of the finest examples of temple architecture in India. The construction of the temple dates back to the 15th century. It was initiated by a Jain devotee named Dharna Shah, who is believed to have envisioned the temple in a divine dream. With the support of the Mewar ruler Rana Kumbha, the grand structure was brought to life. The temple derives its name “Ranakpur” from this royal patron.
